Clients & Friends,

We would like to inform you of Alperin Law's office policy in light of the COVID-19 outbreak. During this trying time, we understand that the fear of coming into an office building and exposing yourself or loved ones to the rapidly spreading virus is felt immensely by so many. Because of this, we are taking steps to ensure that your estate planning, elder law, real estate and business needs are not put on hold, even when it seems the rest of the world is. This situation is new and ever-changing as we have learned over the past few weeks.

In an abundance of caution and in an effort to maintain our client and staff’s health, we have made the decision to close our office to walk-ins/in person meetings until further notice.  The health and safety of you, your loved ones and our staff members are at the heart of this decision.

While implementing a closed door policy, our firm is actively working to ensure that we are 100% accessible to our clients during this time. Rather than holding our monthly in-person seminars, we are offering webinars as well as offering telephone calls or virtual meetings to our clients. If you would like to register for one of our upcoming webinars, please click here.

Virtual meetings, like ZOOM, can replace an initial in-person meeting, follow up telephone calls can be used to answer any questions or concerns during the planning process and our attorneys are able to draft and review documents through web portals. The process of preparing your estate plan, especially now, should not be put on hold.

We will continue to update you on our procedures as this develops.

Our Office Hours

Our staff will continue to work normal business hours (8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.), so please feel free to give us a call or send an email as you would normally do; We will be implementing a closed-door policy, so we will not be accepting any walk-ins or in-person meetings for the time being;
If you have an in-person meeting scheduled, you’ll receive a call from Skyler or EmiLee to explain the transition to a phone meeting or virtual meeting via ZOOM meeting at your convenience. Please kindly await their instructions so that they’re not bombarded all at once with calls; they’re both extremely efficient so don’t be concerned that you’ll be overlooked.

Dropping Off Documents

If you need to drop off any documents, we strongly prefer that you send these over via email or fax if possible. Our fax number is 757-233-3600.
If you are unable to send via email or fax, please feel free to drop them off in our temporary office “inbox”, located outside our office doors starting on March 25, 2019, in the following manner:

  • Please wash your hands and don’t touch your face prior to handling the documents;
  • Make sure you have your documents sealed in an envelope clearly marked with the attorney’s name & matter reference, as applicable;
  • Leave your document(s) in the inbox that will be OUTSIDE the office doors;
  • Please notify us via phone (757-490-3500) or email ([email protected])  that you’ve dropped them off; and
  • Make sure that these are delivered between 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. only.

In order to do our part to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, and in compliance with the recommendations by our public health agencies and officials, some members of our firm will be working remotely all, or part, of the time to limit the number of people in office at all times.  However, be assured that any documents delivered to our office will be taken inside as soon as possible - as always, your confidentiality is extremely important to us.

Resources

Finally, we would like to share some great, fact-based resources:

We encourage you to support small businesses during this trying time.  Be smart and practical. Stay away from crowds, implement social distancing, wash your hands, don’t touch your face… we’re all in this together, so please stay healthy and safe, we will get through this!

We are confident that we will still be able to service all our clients through this period of uncertainty and simply ask that you stay in contact with us and communicate any special concerns that you may have during this time.

Sincerest Regards,

Alperin Law
