Background

Laura, originally from Northern Virginia, moved to this area in 1986 to attend Virginia Wesleyan University and has resided in Virginia Beach ever since. Following her graduation from Virginia Wesleyan, Laura spent 18 years working for Sentara, where she held various roles in long-term care admissions, marketing, and social work. In 1996, she assumed the position of Director of Admissions and Marketing for Virginia’s inaugural PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program, established by Sentara. By 2005, Laura transitioned to the role of Site Manager for Sentara’s PACE program, overseeing the successful implementation of both Medicare and Medicaid integrated programs. Subsequently, she served as the Director of Social Services at Beth Sholom Village for over 13 years before joining Alperin Law in April 2024.

Practice Area

Laura's passion for elder care blossomed during her college years while volunteering with Jewish Family Services. Over the course of her career, she has developed a deep understanding of the multifaceted challenges that come with aging, including navigating insurance, facilitating transitions to care facilities, and supporting families through end-of-life discussions.

Outside of the Office

Laura loves going to the beach, Norfolk Botanical Gardens, spending time with her pups Lucy and Jak, reading, and spending time with her local adult children. She is also an active member of a close-knit book club. Laura feels fortunate to have many close friends and family members with whom she frequently spends time.
