Background
Vania is a Chesapeake native and a graduate of Great Bridge High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Professional Writing from Francis Marion University, then went on to obtain her law degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law in 2001.
While in law school, Vania interned with Virginia Legal Aid and the Chesapeake Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. After graduation, she began her legal career at a small firm practicing family law and estate planning. She later served the community through the Virginia Beach and Chesapeake Public Defender’s Offices before returning to private practice, where she focused on estate planning and family law prior to joining Alperin Law.
Vania has been recognized for her work in the field, earning the distinction of Top 3 Estate Planning Lawyers in the City of Chesapeake (2021). She is also a Virginia-certified Mediator through the Judicial Council of Virginia and was named a 2024 Legal Elite by Virginia Business Magazine.
Giving Back to the Community
Vania has long been active in the local autism community. She has served as President of the Autism Society of Tidewater, as well as a board member for Project Lifesaver Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Public Schools Educational Foundation. She has also volunteered with Virginia’s Wills for Heroes Program.
Currently, Vania serves on the board of the Southeastern Elementary School PTA and is an active volunteer with the Great Bridge High School Band Parent Association. She is also an adjunct professor in the Bryant & Stratton paralegal program.
Outside of the Office
Vania is the proud mother of four and lives in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake with her children and two rescue dogs. Outside of her practice, she enjoys staying actively involved in her children’s schools and community activities.
